Canalside Warehouse Conversion
JHA Architecture were appointed by a local small developer who specialises in renovating old buildings to create six three-storey mews apartments out of an existing warehouse adjacent the Chesterfield Canal in Retford. The warehouse had been part of a busy mercantile trade along the canal with it being sited just above the Retford Town Lock and was built in 1882 but fell into disuse following the development of the railway.
It had stood empty and neglected for many years but following a sympathetic restoration which has retained many of the original features it has been brought back into use and contributes to the local environment once more.
