The Friary Grade 2 Listed House
JHA Architecture were appointed to carry out the refurbishment of the ground floor of the property following extensive flood damage. This necessitated extensive recording of architectural details relating to mouldings, doors and frames and other features with as much of the original features being salvaged as possible. Extensive consultation was carried out with English Heritage.
As can be seen from the above the ground floor was stripped back to the bare walls and timber floors removed along with plastered wall finishes allowing the structure to dry out. Following this, the reinstatement took place to return the building to its former glory.
